Fluoroscopy technology uses low level x-rays to assist in diagnosis
of gastro-intestinal disorders, infertility studies and orthopedic
examinations. These low level x-rays are enhanced by an image
intensifier and displayed on a video monitor.
An important diagnostic advantage of fluoroscopy is that it allows
physicians to visualize motion. Patients lie on an open table during
the fluoroscopy procedure and can actually monitor the examination,
themselves.
Fluoroscopy is available at two Iowa Radiology locations –
Methodist Medical Plaza and our West office at 12368 Stratford
in West Des Moines.
